Nancy Cavers Dougherty

Nancy is the author of three chapbooks Tape Recorder On, Memory In Salt, Levee Town  and Heaven in Truckee as well as the collaborative work, Silk. Her poetry has appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Westview, The Pinch, descant, I-70 Review, Redwood Writers Poetry Anthology, and Quiet Diamonds.

 

She holds a BA in history from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in public administration from Sonoma State University. Nancy lives in Sebastopol, California where she supports local programs that include a shelter for women, teen counseling services, and art-making in group settings. Most recently she served on the Sonoma County Civil Grand Jury, to further positive change through its reports on local government.

 

Her love of the creative arts goes back to her childhood in Massachusetts and continues today with explorations of the interweaving of music, visual arts, and the written word. Her favorite pastimes are playing the cello and doing art projects with her three grandchildren.
